Baylon Meets Mickey Mouse

Since we were so close to the domain of THE Mouse (a small obsession of our son) we decided to make a stop after Aimee's big race.

The little man was pretty excited.

Aimee conquers the world.....or at least 13.1 miles of it

In deference to her increasing ways to torture herself, my beautiful wife signed up to run a half marathon in St. Petersburg, Florida. We got there in time to have dinner with friends and found an 80's icon. Aimee wished to finish her race without walking.....and "YOUR WISH IS GRANTED"...

Way too early the next morning we headed to the race course.

Then one of the cheering section had a hard time with our favorite person running away. (Baylon was upset too)

There were a few other people racing that day...

We walked a couple miles to find a photo op spot, Baylon decided he was racing too.

Then we made our way back to the finish line for the big celebration :)

Passing on the obsession

It's well noted I have a serious car problem (and I'm man enough to admit it). But all evidence points to my passing on these issues to my son. My munchkin gets extremely upset when he notices I've finished up a project while he was sleeping. This week he learned about wheel hubs, bearings, grease, torque and lugnuts.

Today the Germans Invade the British

Although with much less hostility.....

The Keedys went to the South Alabama British Car Club's annual car show in Fairhope today. The weather couldn't have been nicer for a little jaunt across the bay in my own old car.

Views of Mobile, Alabama

My wife is awesome edition/9/11 Tunnel -> Towers Run

As I continue to promise to get off my patooty (and rarely do) to stay in some semblance of shape, my gorgeous wife battles back time constantly, the hard way. This morning she ran yet another 5k, this one in remembrance of that awful morning 10 years ago today. I keep intending to do another race with her, I'll try to make that a priority so she doesn't have to trade me in for a younger model another 10 years from now :)

After a late [pre]Birthday Celebration the night before (where we did everything one shouldn't do before racing at dawn) we showed up to the start at Battleship Park on the Causeway.

See how excited she was. She ran with our friend Amanda who was similarly thrilled after being at the same celebration the night before.

Breaking free of the Bankhead Tunnel.

A couple of inspiring racers...

Aaaand the finish

This is how big I love my wife :)

There are only a couple small details for this to be a complete room/project....
